Where there is passion ..... in branding and art touching is allowed; ....... in this case on the computer monitor

Brands evolve and grow in monetary value; so do paintings and works by certain painters. We look at how the artist is at once a research and development engineer, a product manager as well as a visionary (read visualiser) It is this reason not many artists make the grade but the ones who do are an investment

The world apparently revolves around brands today. A brand as we all know is identification of a product, which could be in the form of a name, symbol or slogan. The word 'brand' is regarded as the most important aspect of a product's/an organisation's survival. Too much hype, but brands hold utmost importance in this materialistic world.
I happened to visit an
artist's exhibition recently and somehow found a curious similarity between a product brand and an artist's work. How an artist thinks and puts his thoughts and feelings into his work…. and how brand strategy makers think of monetizing a brand? But there is stark difference that remains. An artist solely loves to reflect his thoughts, curiosity and anything which he could relate to himself or environment around or his own imagination through his piece of work. Whereas, a brand strategist only focuses on how to monetize a brand, sustain in the market and touch heights to make maximum profits.
Truly, artists are unmatched, though I dared to think of comparing them with product strategists. After a long time, I went to this exhibition. It was a painting exhibition by Vijay Vijan. Still on display at Kalyanmayi Art Gallery (AAI), Safdarjung Airport , it's a digital art spiritual painting exhibition, strikingly titled as 'Trigunaa', which suggests three important 'gunas' (quality aspects) of mind, namely, 'Satwa', 'Tamas' and 'Rajas'. The artist has tried to mirror the three energies of the mind along with other connected spiritual aspects of a human
soul in his paintings. Although these digital paintings have no brush strokes, yet are unquestionably inspiring.
While planting my sight, one by one, at his 30 paintings I could realise that there is life within one self, which is unimaginably satisfying, clean, simple and undemanding. An artist is an example of high level research and development in an area of communication as what is a painting but a highly evolved means of communication.
When the artist thinks and evaluates the life around him, he exemplifies out of the box thinking, the kind venture capitalists chase and bankers finance, though he never balances out his thoughts with financial motives in minds as he belongs to a differ league altogether. When he puts his stuff of canvas or any other medium, he is exemplifying a superior kind of product development. When all this results in high value for his paintings it becomes a true example of branding. The fact relates to each and every artist. I won't restrain myself calling names of big artists like Leonardo da Vinci, M C Escher, Winslow Homer, Claude Monet, Van Gogh, Jiten Hazarika, Jatin Das, MF Hussain, Bikas Pal and Ganesh Pyne, who are real brands in themselves than any body else. Brands of materialistic world may fade away with time but not these artists.
